Man fighting for his life after hit and run crash in Lanarkshire town

Police in Airdrie are asking for help after a man was left fighting for his life in hospital.That's after he was mowed down by what officers believe to be a dark-coloured Porsche in a hit and run.

The 41-year-old was left with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle on Forrest Street, near to its junction with Colston Road, in Airdrie.

Police have now confirmed that enquiries have established that the car involved was a black or dark-coloured Porsche with a dark soft top.The vehicle has not yet been traced and officers are urging the driver to come forward and contact police.Although the vehicle did stop at the scene, the driver did not speak to officers.
