A mum has been diagnosed with cancer after battling with her GP for a biopsy. Leah Herrington, who had a clear smear test, is now 18 weeks into chemotherapy and receiving daily radiotherapy at hospital.

The 32-year-old, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, had been suffering abnormal bleeding for 12 months before the devastating diagnosis in June.
