Motherwell photography club gets a taste of the Big Apple from guest speaker

The guest speaker at the latest meeting of Motherwell Photographic Society was Gordon Scott from Mid Calder Camera Club who gave a presentation of prints and digital images titled, “New York, New York”.This was a new presentation for Gordon and Motherwell Photographic Society was the first camera club he had shown his images to.The photographs were taken over two visits, the first being at the end of November 2018 and the second in spring 2023.Members were shown images from some lesser-known landmarks as well as the more famous locations like Central Park, Manhattan and Times Square.

There was also a display of beautifully printed and mounted photographs of his favourite images.Wilson Murray thanked Gordon for giving members a fantastic presentation.

Gordon’s enjoyment of photography, and New York, is evident in his images and the members appreciated the variety and quality of work on display.The club’s first digital image competition will take place on Thursday, September 26.
