Morrisons shoppers blast 'absolutely ridiculous' move from supermarket

Morrisons shoppers have hit out at the supermarket for filling shelves with Christmas food in August. With four months to go until the big day, customers have said the move is "absolutely ridiculous".

Dozens of people have taken to social media, posting photos of the Christmas displays they have spotted in stores and complaining about the timing, suggesting a lot of the food wouldn't even last until December.

In the Morrisons store in Chadderton, Oldham, half of one aisle has been dedicated to Christmas food, including packs of mince pies, Christmas puddings, selection boxes of biscuits and festive chocolates. Another person, who said they worked in the supermarket, said the festive products have been put on display "a lot earlier this year".
