Michael J. Fox steps out with cane amid Parkinson's disease battle

California on Saturday. The actor, 60, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, walked with a cane and was helped by a friend as he left the eatery.

He wore a sharp blue blazer and a patterned polo shirt which he teamed with a pair of navy trousers. The Back to the Future legend opted for a comfortable pair of blue trainers and donned a face covering.

His friend supported him by walking with his hand under his elbow while carrying the Hollywood star's black bag. Michael made the decision to retire in 2020 after going on as long as his body would allow with Parkinson's disease which can cause involuntary shaking of the body and stiff and inflexible muscles.  Gallery: 20 things to know about prostate cancer (Espresso)When he was 29, a doctor estimated he may have 10 years of being mobile enough to work.

Not wanting to publicly declare that he had the nervous system disorder at the time, he tried to incorporate it into the parts he was playing.
