Maggie appeared in ITV soap Corrie in four different roles throughout her acting career, but was known most notably on the soap as Ruth Audsley.The actress also appeared in the soap in 2010 as Judge Travers.
She had a number of roles in other shows, including Shameless where she appeared as a registrar. Maggie's tragic passing was announced by her heartbroken comedy partner Sue Ryder on Facebook.

The statement shared on Lip Service Theatre’s Facebook page, which is the theatre company founded by Maggie and her close pal Sue, read: “It is with great sadness that I have to announce the death of Maggie Fox, my comedy partner of 40 years and co-Artistic Director of LipService.
