Marnie Simpson has opened up about the post-birth complications her four month old son Oax is having, meaning the tot will have to wear a helmet.Taking to Instagram, the mum-of-two, 30, shared that Oax has plagiocephaly – which causes a baby’s dead to be flattened on one side.

Oax also has torticollis, which is a problem involving a baby’s neck that can cause their head to tilt down. The tot has been left unable to move his head left.

Explaining his condition while updating her 5.1 million followers, former Geordie Shore star Marnie wrote: “Basically Oax has torticollis from his position in the womb which has left him unable to move his head left. "This is hopefully improving with his physio appointments with the osteopath, however this condition has left him with plagiocephaly (the head is flattened on one side, causing it to look asymmetrical, this can cause the ears to be misaligned and the head looks like a parallelogram when seen from above, sometimes the forehead and face may bulge a little on the flat side)”.

Referring to a picture of a graph she posted which saw a black dot in the “serve” section, the reality TV star continued: “As you can see on Oax’s graph he’s on the severe side which even shocked me, I’m being open about his process as I know so many parents don’t even know about this issue and it gets left, he’s had his measurements taken yesterday by @technologyinmotion and in 2 weeks he’ll get his helmet fitted”.
