direct to your inboxThe number of Manchester households pushed into emergency accommodation could rocket by a quarter over the coming months, according to council projections, at the same time as the town hall looks to save more than £2m from its homelessness budget later this week.A report going before councillors next Wednesday attempts to forecast how many more people could need temporary housing as a result of the economic fallout from the pandemic, with numbers expected to grow once the current moratorium on evictions is lifted.Currently it is due to be lifted at the end of the month.Officers believe a worst case scenario could then see up to 700 more households added to those already in temporary accommodation across the city -.
