A man from Manchester who helped to fund terror groups abroad has been jailed. Said Mohammed, of Belvedere Road, Longsight, and his London-based associate Ayub Nurhussein, from Stockwell, sent funds of approximately £2,700 to Islamist places of war.
Today, Mohammed was jailed at the Old Bailey for five years and three months and Nurhussein for nine years and six months respectively.
It followed an extensive investigation dating back to 2018 involving Counter Terrorism Police North-West (CTPNW) working alongside officers in London.
The pair were found to be sending money via Denmark to contacts believed to be Iraq-supporting Daesh fighters in Iraq and Syria.
