Man in hospital after robbers armed with crowbar and hammer burst into his home and smash him over head

Three burglars armed with a crowbar and hammer hit a man over the head before fleeing with jewellery. The trio broke into a house on Belmont Road, in Gatley, at around 9.20pm on Monday, April 13.

They demanded cash and valuables, before attacking a man in his 40s. The three men then fled on foot with a number of jewellery items.

The victim was taken to hospital with a head injury. He remains in hospital, but is in a stable condition. Greater Manchester Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for anyone with further information to come forward.
