recycling centre. Stuart Urquhart, from Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, had been dropping off rubbish at Stobhill Recycling Centre in Gorebridge on June 5 when the gold loop slipped off his finger.

Despite scouring the area with the help of site workers George Kenderdine and Ryan Law, it could not be found and was feared lost forever.

But just hours later, eagle-eyed Ryan spotted the shiny ring lying next to a skip as it was being moved. Stuart had not left any contact details with staff at the site prompting a social media appeal to be launched by Midlothian Council.
