Lockdown had "severe" impact on children leaving them "violent and clingy", says report

Covid-19 on babies born during lockdown could be "severe and long-lasting", according to a new report. More than 200,000 babies were born in the UK during the period between March 23, when lockdown began and July 4 when the first restrictions were lifted.

According to the Babies in Lockdown survey children born during this period could suffer the effects of quarantine for years to come after some parents reported children had become "clingy and violent".Almost 5,500 parents from across the UK took part in the survey, which was compiled by three charities Home Start,  Best Beginnings and the Parent-Infant Foundation.Parents listed deteriorating mental health for both them and their children as a major point of concern as well as babies.
