city centre bar have hit out at the council's decision to close it down for flouting coronavirus lockdown rules. Viadux was the first venue in the city to be shut by the council using new powers handed to local authorities to help curb the spread of Covid-19.

The town hall served owners Fac251 with the closure direction on Thursday, saying they had witnessed 'a complete breakdown in social distancing' at an event held there on the previous Saturday (August 8).

Officials at Manchester council said the venue would have to remain closed until further notice. But today, the venue was allowed to reopen and Viadux bosses have hit out at the council's 'heavy-handed' closure notice.
