Livingston Women’s captain Natasha Frew insists the Lionesses still have more gears to climb - and knows they’ll have to use them if they are to keep hold of top spot in the SWF Championship.Livi sit at the top of the pile after eight games, having picked up six wins including an emphatic 4-1 victory away to Renfrew last weekend.The two sides went into that fixture level on points at the summit but it was a resounding win for Paul Jaconelli’s side.It’s all well and good leading the charge at this stage, but Frew admits they’re eyeing top spot for keeps.She said: “The girls have all put in some shift.

The commitment and the effort from everyone has been incredible but honestly I don’t think the performances have quite been there.“The consistency has been brilliant and we’ve really dug deep to pick up results so far this season but we all know we can play much better football.“Sunday’s win against Renfrew was really an example of that because it wasn’t the type of game we wanted to play, but we still picked up a 4-1 win.”She added: “We’re all confident that there’s more gears for us.

I think we’re a very good footballing side but we haven’t really shown that side of our game too much this season.“We’re a team that likes to play and pass the ball but a lot of the games we haven’t done that to the levels we’d like.“But we have a real desire and belief that we go into every game just refusing to accept defeat, or even a draw.“We missed out on promotion last season and that’s spurred us on because we’re not settling for anything less than promotion this season.“There’s already been some games that we might have let slip last year that we’ve learned from and won this time around.”Livi face a trip to Cumnock on Sunday as they
