The government has finally unveiled its plans to 'Level Up' the nation and narrow the north-south divide, but what will the strategy mean to people in the North of England?

Join us for a live panel debate hosted by our political editor Jen Williams and Rob Parsons, the editor of our daily politics newsletter, The Northern Agenda.

Michael Gove announced 12 'missions' which the government has pledged to achieve by 2030, along with a series of policies which it hopes will retain support in the 'Red Wall' seats won in the 2019 general election.

There are also plans for more areas to have a metro mayor similar to the role played by Andy Burnham in Greater Manchester. We will unpick the Levelling Up white paper during the live debate which you can watch here below from 4pm. Joining our politics specialists are Andy Westwood, professor of government at the University of Manchester, and Dr Nicola Headlam, chief economist and head of public sector at Red Flag Alert.
