A Mancunian in China has told how he was stopped by police on the first night his adopted city was locked down over coronavirus.

Manchester-born Gavin Munro artist said he now wears rubber gloves every time he leaves his home in Hangzhou, East China, where has been based since 2007, with his wife Juliet, 35.

The 47-year-old recalls on the first night of the lockdown in mid-February: "As a typical Manc, I don't like being told what to do so I went out on my scooter for a nosey around and it was really strange, everywhere was so dead and the silence was eerie.
