Lidl has launched an initiative to tackle household food waste after statistics showed an estimated 60 million meals are being binned every month in Scotland.

The data indicated that over 1.8 million Scots are shopping without a list and failing to make smart choices when it comes to meal planning.

The popular retailer has teamed up with Love Food Hate Waste Scotland to launch a series of food waste-free shopping lists that will help Scots plan better, save money and fight the climate crisis.

In addition to weekly shopping lists for a family of four, the initiative also includes guidance on food storage and creative ways to use up leftovers.
