supermarkets have issued food recall notices after products were found to contain pieces of glass or plastic, making them unsafe to eat.The Co-op and Lidl have recalled a number of products including carrot cake, coffee and walnut cake and breakfast cereal, urging customers who may have purchased the products to return them to the store for a full refund.The recall notices, issued through the Food Standards Agency (FSA), warn that the “products may contain pieces of glass which presents a safety risk”.The Co-op is asking customers to return two cake products from its ‘Irresistible range’ - Carrot Cake and Coffee and Walnut Cake while Lidl has recalled Crownfield Wholegrain Wheat Bixies, 36 pack.Full details of the product recalls from Lild.
