Laurence Fox issues apology after GB News comments towards female journalist

Laurence Fox has issued an apology after making comments towards journalist Ava Evans during an appearance on GB News. The actor, who has become well known for his controversial political statements, made a series of remarks about the political correspondent.

Among the comments made during a discussion on Dan Wootton tonight on Tuesday, he remarked: "Who would want to shag that?" Following the incident, both Fox and Wootton were suspended by GB News while it carries out an internal investigation alongside a probe by watchdog Ofcom.

It is understood 7,300 complaints were submitted over the episode, Nottinghamshire Live reports. He alleged she had a “dislike of men in general". However, he addressed the situation on X, stating: "f I was going to be sensible and I could replay it, I would say: ‘Any self-respecting man in 2023 would probably be well advised to avoid a woman who possessed that worldview because she would probably cause him nothing but harm’. “But what I did say was, you know, ‘I wouldn’t shag that’, and all that sort of stuff, which is not right.
