Coronavirus infection rates have continued to fall across all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester. And rates across the region remain below the national average, latest figures have revealed.
Stockport continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate in Greater Manchester, with 656.4 cases per 100,000 people as of week ending February 5. In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 536.8 cases per 100,000 population. The infection rate in the region is lower than the national average, which is 836.5 cases per 100,000 people.
A total of 15,222 people tested positive for coronavirus across Greater Manchester in the week which ended on February 5. The Greater Manchester weekly total has decreased by 6929 cases compared to the previous week, which means the infection rate was down 31 per cent in the last week. Hospital admissions In the week ending on January 30, a total of 595 patients were admitted to Greater Manchester NHS hospitals with Covid-19.
