Lanarkshire historians embark on Coronation memories project

Past and present residents of Gartcosh are being asked for their help in tracing participants in a landmark community event nearly seven decades ago.Members of the area’s local history group are aiming to trace participants in the village’s coronation parade to the former Woodneuk Park back in 1953.The project is part of their celebrations for the Queen’s platinum jubilee next month, which will also include an “indoor street party” and a special event alongside Gartcosh Works social club.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
