A Lanarkshire boxing club have been busy taking on a huge fundraising challenge throughout December. Members of Cambusnethan Miners Amateur Boxing Club have been taking part in the club’s annual Marcothon which involves running every day in December, for three miles or 25 minutes, whatever comes first.Seventeen members of the club are taking part this year with a few scrapes already along the way so far especially with the freezing temperatures earlier this month.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The club’s head coach Gerry Taggart said: “My son Gerry did his first Marcothon in 2020 raising nearly £2000 and last year a few members of the club got on board, again raising nearly £2000.“We are hoping to smash our previous fundraising efforts for this amazing facility, that provides such a tremendous service to our local community.“The dedication from those taking part has been superb.
