Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.

ok.co.ukThe King and Queen Consort Camilla have landed back in London after they left Balmoral this morning. A plane carrying the King and Queen Camilla landed at RAF Northolt in west London around 13.34pm on Friday – Charles' first time on English soil since becoming monarch.
Police stopped traffic on West End Road as a convoy of four black cars, a black van and a police car exited the air base.The King, 73, waved to the crowd which had gathered outside the exit and his car passed by.The sun shone as onlookers waved back and filmed him on their mobile phones.
Charles has now arrived at Buckingham Palace for the first time as monarch, after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II, who died peacefully aged 96 on Thursday afternoon.The new King stepped out of the car as he arrived at the gates of the Palace to greet and shake hands of mourners.
Calls of 'God save the King' rang out as he spoke to the cheering crowds. Charles was later joined by Camilla as they looked at the many flowers and tributes laid in front of Buckingham Palace in tribute to the Queen.
