Keir Starmer has warned Britain will face a “long and bleak winter” unless Boris Johnson uses this month to halt a devastating second wave of coronavirus.
The Labour leader said there is “precious little evidence” of serious preparation for a resurgence in Covid-19 cases or an acceptance from Ministers that the track and trace system is still not functioning properly.Writing for the Guardian, Starmer has called for mass testing of asymptomatic people and a clear plan setting out what “hard decisions” Johnson is prepared to take in order to keep schools open if cases rise over coming weeks.Get all the top Scottish politics news sent straight to your Inbox by signing up to our Politics newsletter. We cover Holyrood, Westminster and local.
