Katie Price: 'I'm still fighting every day for Harvey'
ok.co.ukDevoted mum-of-five Katie Price has this week opened up about her horrific experience with trolling, claiming though she often puts on a brave face, she finds comments about her eldest son Harvey utterly heartbreaking.
Speaking exclusively to OK! at the press launch of her upcoming pantomime stint Sleeping Beauty, Katie - who is single mum to 21 year old son Harvey - tells us she's still "fighting for him" everyday. "I’ve been working on Harvey’s Law - about finding ways to track trolls - and that’s still in the Houses of Parliament," she explains. "I just think it’s really important for it to be clear at what level things are taken too far.Trolling should be a criminal offence." Katie launched a petition in 2017 to make online abuse an offence after her disabled son - who suffers Prader-Willi Syndrome, autism and is partially blind - was subjected to hateful comments online.
After launching Harvey's Law, the former TV star received a huge wave of support from the public, later appearing the Commons Petitions Committee with her mother, Amy Price, where she said: "Online is the future, and I just think there needs to be more security checks." Katie later hit a wall when it became apparent that online trolls couldn't be properly charged with criminal behaviour, but she is still calling for online abuse to be made a specific offence.
She also wants a register of offenders to be documented. "Everyone is entitled to freedom of speech and the right to have a laugh, but I get comments calling my son a Black n****r s*****c," she tells OK!. "They’re the ones that get to me the most." Katie - who also shares children Junior, 18, and Princess, 16, with ex-husband Peter Andre, and kids Jett, nine, and Bunny, five, with former flame.
