KATE Garraway told of how husband Derek's Covid battle "turned her life upside down" in her new TV show. The broadcaster has bravely continued working while raising her two children and caring for Derek over the past two years.

On last night's Your Body Uncovered, she said: "Having a serious health condition is terrifying and having someone you love with a health condition can be just as daunting. "When my husband Derek was diagnosed with Covid-19, it turned our lives upside down.

And that fear was made even harder to bear because I didn’t understand what was going on inside his body. "So we’re bringing patients and their doctors together in our unique imaging centres where they’ll have a mind-blowing consultation which helps them get to grips with their condition from the inside out." The groundbreaking new series uses the latest augmented reality technology to explore a whole host of health conditions in a way that hasn't been seen on TV before.

This week Kate revealed Derek can only sit in his wheelchair for 20 minutes and still requires 24/7 care at home. He spent a year in hospital fighting the virus before Kate, 54, decided to continue his treatment at home.
