Kate Garraway whisked her daughter off for an evening out after admitting to having a 'tough' week'. The Good Morning Britain star shared a cute, albeit blurry, selfie of the pair to her Instagram page and shared a message with her 1.1 million followers.

Writing alongside the rare family snap, Kate said: "Well, what a way to celebrate your 16th birthday Eve!! @ddonstage is THE best fun & we are both in love with Johnny." And the presenter couldn't help but make a little joke at her teenage daughter's expense, adding: "And yes, Darcey has already told me no one puts her in a corner!" But Kate also admitted that it hadn't been the easiest of times, writing: "Just what the doctor ordered after a tough week." While she didn't expand on what she meant, the mum-of-two is currently helping to care for her husband, Derek Draper, who is on a long road to recovery after contracting coronavirus at the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The virus caused significant damage to the former labour lobbyist and psychotherapist's body which saw him spend more than a year in hospital before returning to the family's north London home where he now receives around-the-clock care.
