Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool are not in a position to make Manchester City nervous in the Premier League title race just yet.
Liverpool had seen City extend their lead to 12 points on Wednesday when the Blues beat Brentford, but Klopp's men took advantage of one of their two games in hand created by that game when they beat Leicester on Thursday.
The midweek results keep the gap at nine points, with Liverpool having a game in hand. If Liverpool win that game in hand, and then beat City at the Etihad in April, the gap could be three points, but Klopp still feels that City are too far away to catch at the moment.
Speaking after their 2-0 home win over Leicester, Klopp laughed when asked about City by BT Sport after the game, saying: "I don't think they smell our breath already, but we just try to win football games." In his press conference, he said: "I’m not sure we are in a position to get them on their toes, to be honest.
