Jimmy Carr necked Buckfast in front of a Glasgow crowd last night and joked that the tonic wine could cure coronavirus. The English comedian appeared at the Armadillo as part of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival last night.

His appearance in front of a 3000-strong crowd comes days before public events with 500 or more are halted because of the deadly virus.

Towards the end of the show the 8 out of 10 Cats host produced a bottle of the infamous beverage before swigging at it - much to the delight of the Glasgow crowd.

Carr didn't appear to hate the alcoholic drink and had a few more sips before joking that the fortified wine could cure coronavirus.
