The owner of a south Manchester restaurant that is set to close its doors at the end of the month has made a heart-breaking statement about the realities of running a business.

Eunji Noh announced at the start of the year that she would be closing The Thirsty Korean restaurant on Manchester Road in Chorlton due to the end of the lease for the venue.

Following yesterday’s Budget announcement, Eunji said she could not ‘ignore’ the issues businesses in the hospitality industry face with VAT.

In the Spring Budget announcement, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt set out his latest plans for taxation and spending. Despite calls for VAT to be cut and a cap in business rates, the Chancellor did not make any announcements in these areas.
