Irvine pub wins licensing board bid for outdoor drinking area

Pub bosses at The Carrick in Irvine have been given permission for an outside drinking area.Owners of the town centre boozer had an occasional licence granted in June for a pavement cafe with no issues reported since then.They put forward a proposal to add an outdoor drinking area to the front pavement at Monday’s meeting of North Ayrshire Council's licensing board.Pub bosses also asked for a 10am licence for the outdoor facility; and to increase the capacity to 408 with 58 outside.Councillor Jean McClung said the pavement cafe was close to the bus stop.
