The castle is taking the place of the Australian jungle this year, as coronavirus has stopped the show from heading Down Under as usual.
Instead the 10 celebrities will compete in the Abergele castle to be crowned king or queen of the castle. It was reported that ITV had paid "millions" to use the site, but Dr Mark Baker, chairman of the castle's trust, told North Wales Live this wasn't true.
He said earlier this year that the fee wasn't to "the extent" that some "inaccurate reports" claimed. And now the Radio Times have revealed that Gwrych Castle has received £300,000 for its involvement.
In an interview with the magazine, Dr Baker said that the fee will contribute to ongoing renovations.He said: "The deal will certainly significantly.
