The self-made millionaire, who sadly died on Wednesday aged 66, was the UK's 52nd richest Asian along with brother Yakub, with the pair hitting the 583rd overall spot on The Sunday Times Rich List in 2020.

Born in Africa, Anwer and his brother Yakub moved to Bolton when they were children, growing up to start their first shop in Rochdale in 1979.

Shortly after, the Kenyan Asian brothers took over Cohens in Market Street, Little Lever, picking up the name for what would become a hugely successful business.
