Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter Princess Beatrice waited two weeks to be named as her original moniker was “too yuppie,” it has been claimed.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson eventually settled on Beatrice for their daughter, however The Sun reports that they changed it.The initial name was branded “too yuppie” by the Queen, the publication reports, and so her name became Beatrice instead.

As a result of the swap, it took a fortnight for the Yorks to formally announce the name of their newborn. It was also reported that the Queen suggested Beatrice for her granddaughter, whose full name is Beatrice Elizabeth Mary.
