Horse carriage causes severe delays on M62 after detaching from vehicle

manchestereveningnews.co.ukA carriage used for horse racing became detached from a vehicle while travelling on the M62 - causing 90-minute congestion and delays earlier this afternoon.
Shortly after 1pm on Friday afternoon (November 26), two out of three lanes on the M62 eastbound had to be closed. The road closures took effect between J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor) and J23 A640 New Hey Road (Huddersfield), near Rochdale . The road reopened shortly after 3.30pm, but drivers were still faced with delays until around 4.45pm as traffic struggled to return to normal.
