A new daytime drama is airing on BBC One from today. From Monday (January 31), Hope Street, a new local serial police drama, will be filling up the TV schedule.

The co-commission between BritBox North America, BBC Northern Ireland and BBC Daytime begins at 2.15pm and will run for 10 episodes.

Hope Street is set in the fictional town of Port Devine on the Northern Ireland coast, and focuses on the town's police department and the mysterious arrival of English Detective Constable Leila Hussain, the first Muslim police officer in the town’s history. Behind this exciting new drama are acclaimed producers Paul Marquess and Donna Wiffen from Long Story TV, known for producing British drama including The Bill and creating shows like London Kills.
