Welbeck Street in Abbey Hey, Gorton, remains closed to traffic as engineers investigate a dip in the road. It is believed around ten properties were evacuated on Sunday afternoon as a precaution but residents have since returned.

Police cordoned off the street and reportedly told residents there were fears of a suspected sinkhole. In a statement issued on Monday, Manchester Council said United Utilities engineers have found a 'small, localised sewer issue' which needs to be repaired.
