The Ibrox club confirmed on Monday that they will be allowed only a small number of fans in for the game, and pointed to the fact that 12,000 fans were allowed to attend Euro 2020 matches at Hampden.
With Scotland to move into Level 0 of the Covid-19 restrictions on Monday a minimum of 2,000 fans will be allowed without prior permission, but for Saturday's game an exemption had to be sought with Glasgow in level 3.
And Holyrood has now hit back at the claims made by the club, as they insist the European Championship comparison does not apply to the Arsenal game.
