Jeremy Edwards took to Twitter to announce his departure from Hollyoaks, admitting in the process that the relentless trolling he received played a part in his decision.The actor, now 49, made his comeback to the soap last year after a twisted storyline saw his character, Kurt Benson, return from the dead.

Kurt was killed off over 20 years ago during a jet ski tragedy in 1999.Tall tales are an integral part of the wonderful world of soaps – and it’s certainly not the first time a character has made a miraculous return from the grave – but it seemed viewers just couldn’t get on board with Kurt’s twist of fate.Trolling ensued as a result which Jeremy referred to in his tweet.
