'Highly dangerous' man burst into home with weapon demanding to speak to person who wasn't in

A man has been charged after a violent burglary at a home in Altrincham. Police were called to Lloyd Gardens on Sunday (August 14) after a man, brandishing a bladed weapon, reportedly knocked on the door of a house and burst in.

He demanded to speak to the homeowner, officers said. When he realised the person he wanted to speak was not home, the suspect fled the scene.

He has now been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and aggravated burglary. Edwards will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today.
