Dylan McGowan has backed Cian Newbury to follow in Ryan One's footsteps and become the next big thing to come out of Hamilton Accies.The 18-year-old had an impressive Scottish Cup debut, despite their 2-0 defeat to Kelty Hearts yesterday, and fellow centre-back McGowan believes the teenager has a bright future ahead of him.Newbury has made five appearances so far, including two starts, but Saturday was the biggest game of his career so far.His performance was the one bright note on a dark day for Accies and McGowan, who is also coaching with Accies' youth academy this term, believes he could go on to emulate One after his big move to join English Premier League side Sheffield United in September.He said: "Cian Newbury will be a top player."He has got a massive future in the game and he is a terrific lad in the way he conducts himself, the way he trains, the way he plays."It shows the faith the manager and the coaching staff have to put him in for a Scottish Cup game."He played against East Kilbride earlier in the season in the Trust Trophy as well, so I think it is a matter of time before he is playing regularly at Hamilton and that is credit to the academy as well."I am on that side now and I see the hard work that goes into it with George Cairns, Shaun Fagan and Sean Crighton."They have brought these players through."We lost Ryan One in September and Cian Newbury is probably the next one on the Hamilton conveyor belt."Credit to the coaches for that and credit to Cian.
