The Melbourne Derby descended into chaos after a City goalkeeper Thomas Glover was struck by a BIN following a pitch invasion by a group of supporters.Fans of both city and rivals Melbourne Victory had planned to stage a protest in the 20th minutes ahead of the game, where a number of fans would walk out of the game to protest the A-League's decision to move to take the next three Grand Final showpieces to Sydney.
However, things quickly went wrong when a number of supporters ended up on the field and stopping the action on the park.A section of the support behind Glover's goal streamed onto the field and hopped over advertising boards, before the goalkeeper was struck in the head by a metal bin by one pitch invader, and was left with a nasty cut on his face as his teammates rushed to his aid.
The referee quickly suspended the games and urged both sets of players and management to leave the field.The game was suspended following the incident.
