Her late sibling’s identity has not yet been confirmed.“Her brother’s passing adds an even more unimaginable depth to our grief,” said the online notice. “During this time of immense sorrow, we kindly ask for privacy as we grieve this overwhelming loss, as the circumstances surrounding Claire and her brother’s passing are still under investigation,” the spokesperson wrote. “Claire will forever remain in our hearts, her absence leaving an irreplaceable void that will be felt by all who knew and loved her.”A post shared by Lil Tay (@liltay)Owing to her controversial content, which often came littered with slurs such as the “N-word,” Lil Tay amassed over 3.3 million Instagram followers.

In 2018, she issued a public apology for her use of derogatory language, saying: “I really apologize to everyone I offended…I’m not racist at all,” during an episode of her short-lived reality series “Life with Tay,” which streamed on the Zeus Network.
