Gabriel Byrne tracked down a priest who abused him when he was a child he has revealed in his new memoir Walking with Ghosts.
The Dubliner, who is now aged 70, writes about the emotional moment he made contact with the priest in 2002. Incredibly, he remained calm during the call as he said the elderly priest had no idea who he was and even thanked him for calling.
The Usual Suspects actor wrote: ‘I wanted in those last seconds to call him a c*** and say that even though I don’t believe in Hell, I hope he does because I want him to be terrified and burn forever,’ Byrne said in the book. ‘But I said nothing’.
