Bruce Willis has gone viral in light of his recent dementia diagnosis. In the video from his 2018 Comedy Central roast, the "Die Hard" star speaks of all the things he's beaten on screen. "I've been attacked by terrorists, asteroids, film critics, music critics, restaurant critics, divorce lawyers, male pattern baldness and none of it — none of it! — stopped me," he said, "because I'm still Bruce f****** Willis.""People ask me why I wanted to do that roast.

Is it because one of the last guys who did it became president? Hell no," he proclaimed, referring to Donald Trump's roast in 2011. "Why would I want to be president when I can just keep being Bruce f****** Willis."The resurfaced video comes after Bruce's family announced that he has been diagnosed with dementia — this in addition to his battle with aphasia. "Since we announced Bruce's diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce's condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).

Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis," his family wrote on the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration website.

FTD is the most common form of dementia. "Today there are no treatments for the disease, a reality that we hope can change in the years ahead," the statement said. "As Bruce's condition advances, we hope that any media attention can be focused on shining a light on this disease that needs far more awareness and research."After the news was made public, Bruce's daughter Scout said on social media she was "emotionally tired and a bit overwhelmed" from all the support her dad is receiving.
