A furious pensioner claims she is being ‘blackmailed’ into paying an £170 parking fine. Despite putting £1 in a machine on a shopping trip to Iceland, Mary Jones, 72, was "not impressed" when a fine of £100 came through addressed to her husband Mike.

As reported by DevonLive, the couple's despair unfolded when they went shopping at their local Iceland branch. They parked in a car park which they thought belonged to the supermarket chain, but was in fact managed by Excel Parking.

Explaining the circumstances surrounding the trip on January 18, Mary said: “My husband stayed in the car because he's not able to do any walking at the moment.
