Former SNP MP Margaret Ferrier has admitted breaking coronavirus restrictions by using a public train after being told to self-isolate during lockdown.
The politician admitted culpably and recklessly exposing the public to the virus while travelling in and around Glasgow as well as between Scotland and London in September 2020.Following allegations of the breach, Ferrier lost the party whip and now sits as an independent.
She appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Thursday to admit her guilt.Ferrier, an MP for Rutherglen and Hamilton West, admitted wilfully exposing people “to the risk of infection, illness and death” by visiting various places in the Glasgow area and London having been told to self-isolate.
