David Harbour to Star in Sony & Playstation's 'Gran Turismo' Adaptation

David Harbour is taking on an exciting new role. According to The Wrap, the 47-year-old Stranger Things actor is set to star in a new adaptation of the video game franchise Gran Turismo from Sony and Playstation. Click inside to read more… The film – which is being directed by District 9‘s Neill Blomkamp – is based on a true story about a teenage Gran Turismo player, who went on to win a series of Nissan competitions and become a professional race car driver.

The outlet writes that David will play a retired driver who mentors the teenager and teaches him to drive. The movie is slated for an August 11, 2023 release. “As one of PlayStation’s longest standing and most beloved franchises, it’s great to be partnering with Columbia Pictures again to bring Gran Turismo to life in an exciting way.

We can’t wait for audiences to see Neill’s vision of this inspiring true story of gamer turned professional race car driver,” PlayStation Production’s Asad Qizilbash said in a statement.
