Ross Elrick left his Samsung Galaxy S10 plus and other belongings on a bench at Burntisland train station, Fife, at around 6.30pm on Sunday, January 24.

The 31-year-old was then hit by a train before being pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics a short time later. His heartbroken family’s grief was worsened after learning that his phone and wallet had been taken - before his bank card was used to make a purchase at a nearby shop.Brother Phil hopes the mobile phone may contain a final message from his sibling and is desperately appealing for help to get it back.The 30-year-old said: “Ross didn’t leave a note.
