Edgar Wright is taking on a new project! According to Deadline, Edgar will direct an upcoming adaptation of The Running Man, the 1982 dystopian thriller novel written by Stephen King.

The novel is set in 2025, when the United States’ economy is floundering and violence is increasing across the globe. The story follows Ben Richards as he joins the game-show called “The Running Man” where participants travel all over the world as “Hunters” employed by the show attempt to track and kill them.

The book was very loosely adapted into a movie by the same name in 1987 and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. Edgar‘s upcoming film will reportedly be a more faithful adaptation of the novel’s plot.
